Have you ever looked around and wished you had someone else’s nose? If so, you know what it’s like to yearn for a feature you weren’t born with.
It’s likely you think the person you’re looking at has natural beauty. You may say, “How did they get so lucky?”
The truth is that person probably isn’t any luckier than you.
Did You Know…?
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were 14.6 million cosmetic plastic surgeries performed in just 2012. This was approximately 5 percent more than number performed in 2011.
The second most popular cosmetic surgery procedure was rhinoplasty, or nose job surgery. There were 243,000 procedures performed in 2012.
Rhinoplasty has been around since before 800 B.C. While the commencement of nose jobs was designed to restore damaged noses, around the 20th century, Hollywood brought a whole new meaning to the rhinoplasty procedure. Dr. Jacque Joseph was the first to perform the modern day nose job.
Altered Natural Beauty
People that have had plastic surgery are likely not on your list of obvious choices. One such person is the famous Marilyn Monroe. There’s new evidence that this Hollywood starlet had a chin implant and a tip rhinoplasty done by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Norman Leaf.
This news was not known until her medical records came up for auction. Her partial medical history from 1950 to 1962 is up for auction to the tune of $15,000 to $30,000.
The executive director of the auction told Reuters:
Nobody really thought about Marilyn Monroe having plastic surgery. It was always speculation – did she or didn’t she? They thought she was such a natural beauty, they didn’t want to believe.
People seeking nose jobs and other plastic surgery procedures are commonplace now. We have the medical technology and luxury of being able turn to a plastic surgeon to have areas of our body corrected when something isn’t quite right.
Let Rhinoplasty Help Your Natural Beauty Shine Through
The next time you look at someone and wish that you had their genetics, ask yourself, “Did they have plastic surgery?” It’s likely the person did. What you are looking at isn’t unaltered natural beauty, it’s their natural beauty that has been enhanced so that it shines even brighter than before.
