Olympic gold medalist Rebecca Adlington recently had a rhinoplasty. This two-time Olympic star who also won two bronze models during the London 2012 Olympics admitted she was struggling with her body image, which led her to get a nose job.

During her appearance on the show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, she confessed it had been tough for her even after winning at the Olympics. She often compares herself to others who she views as more beautiful such as contestant Amy Willerton, who is also a glamour model.

Adlington’s nose was what made her the most self-conscious. This is what Adlington said about her nose in a video diary:

“God, I’m not pretty. I’ve got a very big nose.”

Adlington was affected by her fans’ comments too. People took to social media criticizing her nose during the Olympics. Some of the mean-spirited comments made were:

  • “Oh God, you look like a dolphin.”

  • “I didn’t realize they let whales into the Olympics, but at least you should be able to swim faster.”

Rhinoplasty Surgery Can Boost Confidence

Even Olympic athletes can have a difficult time with self-esteem. Sometimes, it does not matter what you do or how successful you are, but how you see yourself in the mirror.

If seeking a nose job can change the way people see themselves in the mirror and feel about themselves, it’s worth it. It can give them that feeling of satisfaction with life. This is something that they would otherwise not have, no matter what they did in their life.

Adlington has not commented on her rhinoplasty as of yet, but the change in her look leaves little question that rhinoplasty took place. It will be interesting to find out what she thinks of her new look and how it will change her outlook of herself.
