For many of our nose job patients, surgery is just one of several procedures that they choose to have done on their surgery date. You see, when it comes to rhinoplasty, sometimes the nose is only part of the picture.
The nose is the center of the face and one of the most noticeable features that defines how we look. When rhinoplasty is looked at from a one-sided view, the patient’s complaints about the harmony of their facial features can often times get overlooked. This can result in a patient being unhappy after nose reconstruction.
Taking the Entire Face into Account
With the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Team, however, years of experience as a rhinoplasty surgeon have allowed them to go beyond the one-sided view of a patient’s face and to instead approach aesthetics using a multi-faceted view of their facial features. The end result is a balance of facial features that will enhance each patient’s face and increase their self-confidence.
Rhinoplasty and Chin or Cheek Implants
To further explain this multi-faceted approach, take the nose and chin, for example. The nose can seem to be out of proportion if the chin’s projection is out of balance with the nose.
This is called a “weak chin” and it can make the nose seem too large. Our patients may come in with a complaint about their nose size, but once they look at pictures of patients who have had a rhinoplasty and a chin implant, they can see what a huge difference these two procedures can make when combined!
Soft silicone heek implants and facial fillers are also available to boost the fullness of the cheeks and give patients a more youthful cheek volume.
Rhinoplasty and Fat Grafting to the Chin, Cheeks or Lips
Patients who do not wish to have a chin implant can sometimes opt to have fat grafted to the chin from elsewhere in the body. This procedure is appropriate for patients who have a weak chin in the soft tissue area of the chin and not because of a lack of underlying bone structure.
Other areas of the face that can receive the benefits of fat grafting include the cheeks and lips which can become hollow (cheeks) and thinner (lips) with age. For some patients, all it takes is to have these features brought back into proportion with the rest of the face and the nose will suddenly look balanced with the face.
This is why it is so vital to go to an experienced nose surgeon such as those on our Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Team; one who is qualified and experienced enough to properly advise you about which procedures are right for you.
Rhinoplasty and Facelift With Our New York City and Long Island Surgeons
A facelift procedure can give rhinoplasty patients a whole new look with a set of procedures done at one time. This is appealingbecause they will only have to endure one healing time and can get all of their aesthetic needs met.
A facelift can include an upper facelift (brow lift), mid-lift (upper/lower eye lift and cheeks), and a lower face lift (neck and jowls). When combined, these procedures can give patients that youthful glow they once had while reshaping a nose that may have been bothering them for years.
Rhinoplasty and Otoplasty
Otoplasty, or ear pinning surgery, is commonly done at the same time as a rhinoplasty for our patients because specialized training is required to perform these procedures. An ear, nose, and throat doctor (ENT) who is also a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon is the ideal choice for performing both procedures at once.
Our Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Team has well-qualified surgeons in both of these disciplines and they regularly perform otoplasty and rhinoplasty procedures on our patients. Having this extensive training helps our team to meet the aesthetic needs of their rhinoplasty patients as well as being highly qualified to repair the internal structures of the ears and nose.
